About Us

 

Sharp Teeth Publishing was established by Kayresia A. Bass in 2011. I began my literary journey as early as fourteen years old. I didn't know the potential I had in me , but a teacher in high school did. My first manuscript was presented to him, and was actually read aloud in class. It made me proud, and that very act sparked something in me, that didn’t manifest until I graduated high school. Maybe one day I would be a published author. That was 1985.

 

Fast forward to the year 2000. I hadn't stopped  writing, and kept my dream alive in my head. I spoke with many about my dream and many doubted that it would ever come to fruition, even my own family, but I kept on.

 

Four years out of the USAF, I had a dream (You know, the ones we have while sleeping). The dream was of characters I created many years earlier, and when I woke up the next day, I continued my journey. My dream managed to spark ideas that would inspire me and others fifteen years into the future.

 

In the later months of 2011, I started my own publishing company. Sharp Teeth Publishing. Well, at least at that time I thought it was a company. I had no idea of what it actually took to take my idea to fame, but I would learn that, "You can't just publish a book and become famous. It takes work." Those were the words to me after I hit a low, with bad reviews to go with it. I was going to have to figure out how to get my company off the ground, or at least gain some followers that were passionate about my work.

 

Being a small operation has its challenges. Trust issues and insane competition. Yet, Sharp Teeth moves forward. I would love to take you on my journey. Come with me, won't you?
